At KX 96.9 Lincoln's #1 New Country, we believe that the Friday before the first Husker game day should be declared a state holiday in Nebraska. What single event is more unifying for Nebraskans? All over the state, citizens who bleed Husker Red will be given a day off of work to prepare for the annual pilgrimage to Lincoln to celebrate the tradition that binds us as the greatest state in the nation. God bless America and Go Big Red!

Takes way too long to get across town on game weekends. A day off for everyone would fix the traffic headache for sure.

My boss would hate this but I would be at the stadium tailgating by 8am. Make it happen NEBRASKA
Best idea ever. Fridays before kickoff are basically a ghost town in my office anyway

We shut down the whole state anyway might as well make it official so we can all catch up on sleep before the game starts. GO BIG RED
