I strongly encourage the Town to consider supporting entertainment licenses. I have heard the arguments against licenses which are primarily voiced by people who bought a home down the street from a restaurant or a marina are now surprised their might be traffic or noise related to those business activities. Reasonable license restrictions (music needs to be done by 10PM, police details if necessary, etc.) can be added to the license conditions to ensure nothing gets out of hand. We want to encourage people to locate their businesses in our Town. Let's not make Essex "anti-business" because people are upset about traffic, noise or have embraced a newfound concern for the impact it may have on wildlife.

I applied this measure since being an entertainer myself, performance venues are hard to come by these days. Any way to help promote that is fine by me.

Essex needs music - we need to want to spend more time around this beautiful area, spend more money and enjoy listening to some tunes. I have to go to Gloucester every time I want to hear live music!

Art unites a community, I perform original songs that I believe people can relate to, because I’ve noticed the impact it can have on people and a community coming together. Despite our differences. taking away art is like disconnecting and disengaging a community.
