Essence magazine, one of the leading magazines for women of color, boosts of being the magazine for health, love and relationships - HEALTH?!!! Really?!!! Essence magazine continues to advertise cigarettes. For November and December's issues, the cigarette ad is the page with the Single Man of the Month - (SMotM, usually is an African-American man). Is this yet another way of getting rid of our men of color?!! I don't think so, I have sent letters and emails to Essence for years - I've stopped subscribing and it seems like they don't care - guess I am just one person. I am asking you to help me to get my message to Essence to stop advertising cigarettes. Please sign my petition. Thanks!
