Put the NHL back on ESPN!
As many of you know- Since the National Hockey League (NHL) lockout of 2004-2005, NHL games have been absent from ESPN and ESPN2. Many people miss ESPN\'s coverage of the NHL. Versus (previously OLN), received the rights to the NHL beginning in the 2005-2006 NHL season. Many people have to pay a premium to get Versus or simply do not have access to the network through there cable providers. Whatever the case many avid hockey fans and unable to watch the sport they love. It seems everywhere one goes ESPN is on (in restaurants, stores, offices, etc.) Having the NHL back on ESPN would be extremely beneficial to both the NHL and ESPN. The NHL would be able to build a stronger fanbase in the U.S. and abroad. With games shown on ESPN and ESPN2 (much more recognizable and available channels), the NHL could bring back fans lost to the lockout while attracting a younger generation of hockey lovers. ESPN\'s viewership would increase as the network could gain countless hockey fans across the world. With the NHL on ESPN, fans would be more willing to tune into other ESPN shows as well. Hopefully, with support your support, we will be seeing NHL games on ESPN and ESPN2 in the very near future. Thank you for your time.
