Employing psychiatric nursing students seems both an opportunity for those in training to gain valuable experience and to benefit hospitals with greater service capacity.

BPN students need this ESN process because it is an invaluable experience that would allow us competent students to practice to better ourselves. Please tell us more on how to help!

Professional Psychiatric care is a core need in our society today and the front line caregivers are the Psychiatric Nursing staff. Preventing them from achieving a proper, hands on professional experience in unthinkable. You'd never see a Doctor or Dentist who had never touched a patient, so don't treat Psychiatric Nursing students of BC. any differently.

This is ludicrous..,having an ESN program is a major part of training for all nurses. Once again Psych Nurses are being treated like second class citizens. This is a matter of safety. Psych Nurses need this experience before they start a new job...it is the most surefire way to learn to prevent and deal with the violence that surrounds us in this profession now.
