I am demanding a full refund of the money I paid to ESF as the in-person camp I signed up for my children to attend in summer 2020 was cancelled.

I expressed concerns about camp months ago and was ask to wait and see. I felt for sure ESF would do the right thing and give us the option of a full refund. They are not providing the service we paid for, we should be 100% refunded if we do choose.

The 3 options put forth following the cancellation of camp are simply unacceptable. The service as it was sold will not be provided. All families who request a refund should be refunded at 100% of what they paid before the end of the August 2020, if not sooner.

I was forced to select option 2 for a credit for next year (before the 28 May deadline) to avoid either losing 30% of my initial payment or being automatically enrolled in virtual camp.

I am extremely disappointed both with the communication and so-called options. ESF outlined a family’s options should the family choose to withdraw before April 1. However, there was no previous indication of what would happen if ESF cancelled. Moreover, ESF provided that description well after we had paid for camp in January, and we did not consent to those conditions at that time. 70% returned in installments over the course of a year seems insufficient a return for having the service we paid for cancelled and being stuck looking for replacement child care

It is completely unacceptable what ESF is doing. I expect a full refund. That is what most camps are doing or at least offering that option in addition to a credit. You will lose future business because of the decisions you are making today. You are not treating families fairly. Most families are struggling and need the money now.

We were fortunate enough to get our refund but ESF what you are doing here is wrong. Trying to force a virtual camp for the same amount of money as regular camp?? First of all your camp prices are excessive to begin with and in no way would a virtual camp be worth this kind of money. That is not right and frankly I don’t see how this aligns with your core principals. Everyone is struggling and many families need the money to pay for alternate care. Do the right thing here and refund the parents asking at 100%.

I expect a FULL refund for the 9/10 weeks I registered my child for back in November. No only we’re we given such vague reasoning two days ago about why a full refund could not be given we were also given last minute notice on a holiday weekend which included in the fine print That if we did not decide in 4 days from the 3 self serving options ESF could offer then ESF would automatically register my child for virtual camp. That’s a hell no. Also- out of the 3 options - proof of hardship or not COVID related reasons must be given in order to get a refund but only at 70%. No absolutely unacceptable. WERE ALL STRUGGLING HERE ! Let’s see the proof of your hardship? Where are your accounts showing when all these funds were spent?? The difference is we’re struggling for our children. You Michael, are struggling and scheming a way Through fine print and last minute updates to conceal your slime ball plan where we’re rushed to decide an option in 3 days or you lock us in to your options - the virtual one

Shocked at ESF actions. ESF does not have the right to unilaterally change the terms and conditions of the camp agreement, their cancellation of the camp does not permit them to retain our payments or offer up an unacceptable alternative (virtual camp at the same cost). ESF has lost many, many loyal long term campers.

ESF CEO cancelled summer day camp as it was sold initially; now he is trying to make us accept the virtual option, and this is not right. It was his decision to cancel camp, not mine. I don't have to accept the change he made to virtual camp or the other options. All I want is a full refund. He said on the video "thank you for allowing me to make decisions for your children on your behalf". What a joke! No, I didn't authorize him to make decisions for my children on my behalf.; my decision is that my children will still attend a regular summer camp.

100% refund or applying it toward next year is the only option when canceling this late. Unfortunately losing 30% makes me uncomfortable that camp will be around next year.
