Tenants get hurt by extreme one sided tenant rights policies not just property owners. When tenants are told the whole truth, the don’t like it. It’s like military recruiters who only focus on the benefits but never on the disadvantages that follow. Most tenants have wonderful relationships with their landlord. We oppose the “rent stabilization, rent control. Please let Salinas be free.

Property owners are not the bad guys folks. Econ 101, we have a supply problem, low supply equals higher rents. The city and county must work with developers to responsibly increase the housing supply. ADU's are helping. Please do not trample on individual property owners rights.

How do you expect landlords to maintain thier property. What is the motivation to have assets like this when you work hard. Makes no sense

This proposal will have severe negative effects on our market and will result in taking more rental properties off the market.

The Salinas City Council needs to have informed conversations with landlords before proposing these ordinances.

Simply expecting landlords to subsidize renters is irresponsible. This in effect will make mom and pops sell their units, ultimately resulting in less a available rentals. Private property rights and management of our own businesses should not be undermined by the government.

Owners need to cover consistent cost increases of the utility. If complexes were built with correct or incorrect services would determine how the utilitys affect the operating costs of the complex.

This ordinance would only have less apartments built in the future. The ADU’s that the city is doing is helping put more units up for rent

We as owners have way more expense now to keep our rentals up. We also pay our taxes and other added bills that are also up. We will not stand for anyone to control what we can charge for rent on property’s WE own. Dictation is Not in the cards sorry. This is wrong I’m not a fan.

This is an ill conceived piece of legislation and necessitates public input and approval prior to implementation.

I oppose the rent stabilization ordinance as it will not solve the housing shortage in salinas. It will discourage new rental housing.

We need to help resolve the issue not create several more issues that will only hurt Salinas.
