It has been brought to our attention that the contract of Professor Deubzer, with whom we have the mandatory module Corporate Environmental Protection, has not been extended. Therefore the module cannot take place in this semester. This leads to the fact, that the current 3rd semester students have to take the module in the next winter semester. As a part of the ERM program, we are obliged to spend the 5th semester abroad, consequently that we would have to take the module in the 7th semester. Stressing again, that the module Corporate Environmental Protection is mandatory, we must complete it before starting our bachelor thesis, which, because of the delays, we now have to write in the 8th semester. This is a condition which violates the agreement that we, the students, have with BTU Cottbus. Corporate Environmental Protection is a mandatory module, and for good reasons: it is one of the key courses of an interdisciplinary nature in regard to international process technologies, environmental and corporation management. As the only module dealing directly with the topic of management it is crucial for the ERM program. We would prefer to avoid being confrontational in addressing our problems that arise with the cancellation of the module, but we would like to take the opportunity to remind you of the fact that a prolongation of the study program causes major personal problems to the students: besides the financial burdens we have to take into account (in our study program there is a large number of international students from the European Union and elsewhere), it will force us to postpone plans for our futures. We anticipate reaching a solution to this issue in as prompt a fashion as possible. Regards, the ERM Board of Students & students
