Erection of a Ferris Wheel in The Point, Mossel Bay

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it", as the saying goes. The natural beauty and existing amenities at the Point are plenty enough to attract visitors. It is almost always full in that area. To erect a Ferris wheel there is not reasonable. Not only will it detract from the natural aesthetics that so many enjoy - the view to land and to sea (a ferris wheel is huge), the outcome will also threaten the heritage sites in the area, as well as further congest the already highly congested traffic generally in the area. Since Mossel Bay is rapidly developing and enlarging to accommodate migration from other cities/towns/provinces, we need to be cognisant of maintaining and protecting that which has long been part of Mosselbay's cultural heritage - one of them being the Point. In addition, the outcome of erecting a Ferris wheel could exacerbate the negative impact on endangered and protected fauna and flora , which are already under strain from existing foot and vehicle traffic constantly in that area. Diaz Beach area, which is already set up in that way, may be a good alternative for the proposal of a Ferris wheel. I vote against the erecting of a Ferris wheel at the Point.

The Point is a hub of Mossel Bay's heritage and is already one of the town's most popular visiting points, both in and out of season. Traffic is already often an issue, and its topography couldn't handle something of this magnitude. Apart from that, it would completely change the beauty of the landscape at the point and will affect the views of those living around one of Mossel Bay's most prestigious areas. Out of season, this type of attraction would not gain much interest and would be a wasted investment. As a heritage site, it's vital to maintain what millions have enjoyed for the last 130 years, for the sake of those still to come. I vote against erecting the ferris wheel at The Point.

Not at the point area - maybe around Diaz or Hartenbos. It'll spoil the point area. It will also be popular in season, but not sure about out of season.

Great idea, maar verkeerde ligging, doen iets by Santos of Diaz of selfs De Bakke... maar daai areas meer aanloklik vir besoekers. Die punt is reeds crowded!

I am against the Wheel being put up at the point . It will ruin the point completely. It's an amazing idea just needs a different place to be erected. Why not place it in the open field near the start of the zip line. It's a stunning view there and has ample space.

This will cause unbelievable traffic congestion. Remember the holiday makers are not here all the time. The local people might go once and that's it. Find an open space with ample parking and other entertainment opportunities. Thank you.

Daar is klaar nie genoeg parkeering nie. Kyk wat het by hartenbos seefront gebeur met hulle veranderinge. Somtyds is die oud beter as die nuwe. Daar staan jare se geskiedenis op daai stukkie grond en die roomys en koswaentjies is deel daarvan hom n klomp mense se besighede seermaak vir die minopoly om weereens die klein mannetjie te onderdruk
