Share the trails - equestrians need a safe place to ride too. We're all taxpayers.

Mountain bikes & hikers have taken over many trails in my area and it is not safe to ride there even on the trails we are “allowed” to use. Equestrians have just as much right to the trails as anyone else.

It works on Mission Creek trails, so why not on the Rail Trail?

Yes equestrians are tax payers too. I’d love to use the trail also.

Multi-use trails, including equestrian traffic, works around the world. Horseback riders should have access to the Rail Trail.

The trail should be open to the horses. There are many multi-use trails on Vancouver Island that successfully allow hikers, cyclists, and horses.

Travelling by horse back or cart is non eco friendly and has been around longer than bikes.

Please let us ride on the rail trail!!!!! I have had so many good interactions with people - they love to see the diversity of horses, bikes and walkers- they can co-exist on one wide trail.

Rail to trail should provide equal enjoyment for all. Sharing trails with horse riders can and does work. A little knowledge and understanding from all parties is what it takes. To just decide no equines without even trying it with the rail to trail system seems very arbotory. As time has moved on and the countryside gets more crowded the access to trails for many (equine and others) is being limited -- in this case even further limiting the equine access.

Look around the province. There are many examples of equestrians, pedestrians and cyclists successfully sharing trails from North Vancouver to the East Kootenay.
