We the citizens of the State of Arizona wish to present this petition to our elected and appointed officials and government representatives requesting that a bill be entered into law giving both parents (natural, adoptive, or otherwise) equal footing at the start of any custody case. We request that upon the birth of a child each natural parent be automatically granted joint legal custody as well as equal parenting time. We also request that the same rule apply to adoptive parents upon the finalization of adoption. We attest that this gives a child the opportunity to bond equally with both parents and allows each parent the equal opportunity to participate in the child's life. We request that custody can still be modified upon the entrance of a court ruling. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
