Equalize Alcohol and Marijuana Penalties
Currently under the Georgia Southern University Student Code of Conduct any student living in on-campus housing may be subject to eviction for any marijuana violation, even in the middle of the semester, while students who violate alcohol policies are not evicted, and are given several chances. Marijuana has been proven to be much safer than alcohol and the university should not punish students more severely for making a safer recreational choice. Students should be able to focus on school while attending GSU not on where they are going to live. Evicting students for maijuana violations is not a sensible way to handle drug issues and is a policy that can not be tolerated! Please sign this petition to equalize the penalties for alcohol and marijuana and help keep students housed and in school.
