You may not notice but kids in our school with disabilities are being treated unfairly. In my family I have two siblings with developmental disabilities. My eldest brother who is now graduated went through high school as basically a janitor. He cleaned up the recycling, stacked the chairs, and was looked down on by some staff and peers. Disability or not they have feelings like any of us, and have the desire to learn and be apart of the same activities just like anybody else in their school. I have asked why they have to do "chores" instead of learn I was greeted with a response that is all apart of the program. It is unclear to me how doing any of this will help them learn to read or to write or to grow up in life. I say its time to make a change. Please sign this petition if you agree.
