So true. I’ve been playing hockey for 15 years and I still see the girls struggling to have teams whereas the boys have brand new equipment yearly

My 11 year old daughter quit hockey because she was told she was not good enough to be on the boys team and would bring the house hockey standards down. That said the boys at equal level were not cut from HOUSE hockey.

I started playing ice hockey a few months ago after binge-watching all three Mighty Ducks movies. I'm one of like 3-5 girls out of 30-ish kids in a learn to play class.

I think this is absolutely great. But also sad at the same time. We should be so far past this. I have played competitive hockey all my life, including against girls/women. The fact that it is not set to be equal is very sad. We are all just human beings trying to play the greatest sport to bless this earth.
