According to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, “women, on average, earn less than men in virtually every single occupation for which there is sufficient earnings data for both men and women to calculate an earnings ratio.” Statistics from all over the world have proved that women, tend to get paid around 79 cents on a man's dollar. And the discrimination doesn’t stop there, studies have shown that women of color, especially hispanic or latina women get paid even less, ranging from 54% - 63% of a man’s dollar (http://www.aauw.org/). The gender pay gap, although very slowly decreasing, remains to show that the discrimination against women is present, and obvious in the workplace.
