Equal Equal Access to All Pickleball Courts in Wilton Manors
The City of Wilton Manors has done an outstanding job providing five beautiful Pickleball courts for our community. The courts have quickly become one of the city’s most popular recreational amenities, drawing residents and visitors alike — especially on weekends, when the courts are at full capacity.
Currently, three courts are designated for open play, while two are reserved for challenge play. While the challenge courts serve more advanced players, this system often leaves many community members waiting extended periods for their turn. On busy days, it’s common to see more than 25 players waiting to rotate onto just three courts.
As these courts are a municipal service meant for all residents, we respectfully request that the City consider making all five courts open play on weekends, when demand is highest — or ideally, extending open play to all courts at all times. This small change would help ensure fair access for players of all levels and foster an even greater sense of community engagement and inclusion.
