I was not consulted about Epsom Hospital downgrade!
Epsom General Hospital is fully used and popular. It serves a large catchment area of Surrey. Amongst its fine services are an Accident and Emergency Department and modern Maternity Wing. Despite the demands on the hospital\'s services the management of the Health authorities are determined to downgrade Epsom General Hospital. It is intended to build at no one knows what expense a new hospital in far away London Borough of Sutton. The authorities are supposed to carry out a full public consultation before decisions are made. It is reported that many citizens have not been advised in advance of the proposed plans and it is too late for their views to be taken into account. Unless, that is, the authorities or a Court of Law are persuaded that the failure to consult the public sufficiently is a ground to stop the decision going ahead and re-open the case for proper consultation.
