To Whom It May Concern,

We, the students of CUNY Queens College attending the lecture of Environmental Science 99 are writing to you today because of some certain treatment we are facing in our lecture with Professor Anestoria Shallowski.

Our issues are described below:

Excessive Workload

As this is an Introductory course, and a non-major course, we are expected to do double the work than our courses that require more importance to our actual discipline. We are aware that in a University style course the workload will be heavier, and lengthier. However, our professor assigned us to complete 200 questions TWICE a week, with due dates only spaced between a day each. So technically, we are required to answer 400+ question within three days. Almost 80% of the students in the class have expressed concern over the heavy workload. Our only request was to either push the due date at the end of the week, or to cut the portion of the assignments by 25%. Upon doing so, the Professor complied to us that we are required to such assignments because "you have to, not because you want to." Additionally, she called almost all of us high schoolers, and kindergarteners for expressing our overwhelming concern over the assignments. It is very difficult for us to manage course load from our other classes while having to complete this class's assignment. Furthermore, she assured us that she will give us an extension, but she did not do so. She mentioned that we should attend her Office Hours for further assistance, but she is not willing to make accommodation for most of us. Reason for this is she chose office hours times when most of us have class, despite asking us what times we prefer for office hours.

We request you to please help us. We are all very overwhelmed, and this pandemic has not really made our lives any better. We hoped that Professor Shallowski would be more understanding, but unfortunately due to her behavior towards us we deemed it necessary to reach out to you.
