Dale- just to clarify. the City is proposing a 10-20% increase vs. what is currently paid - not actually doubling from a 10% tax to a 20% tax. It's still a sharp poke in the eye. Bill

After the resounding defeat of the levy lid lift, I expect the City Council to take a hard look at the reasons for the defeat, cut expenses as promised (threatened) and listen to the taxpayers before raising our taxes or asking for a redo. An increase from a 10% utility tax to 20% is a 100% tax increase. No one else could get away with this. As a landlord, I’m limited to a 9.6% increase this year. How can I keep rents affordable for my Edmonds tenants??? Almost all of the 2026 rent increase is due to the RFA. Go back to the drawing board and cut expenses, including salaries, if necessary.
