It is time to open our schools now, fulltime, five days a week. Our children will be no doubt effected by this non social, emotional lockdown for months to years to come. It's a year of sitting at a kitchen table for 7 hours, listening and watching from a small computer screen.
We need to hold Jeffrey Mohre accountable for his lack of effort, interest and clear nonsense of excuses as to why he doesn't have a reopening plan. And our BOE needs to be held responsible for safeguarding that as HIS PRIORITY! We've offered creative ideas and solutions that were clearly laughed upon or ignored. Parents spent hard earned money on tutors and even sat with their children to help keep them engaged while doing their own jobs.
It has been confirmed continuously by the CDC, Academy of Pediatrics and Dr. Fauci himself, that it is safe for children to return to school and our teachers do NOT need to be vaccinated first either. There is less than 1% transmission rate among the schools in the state. Both Mr. Mohre and the BOE need to follow our science and data and NOT our teachers union president! It is also a FACT that the longer schools are closed, stronger the negative impact it has on our children's health, education and development!

I am not advocating for anything that falls beyond what official health guidelines will allow for. I am rather advocating that any and all measures be taken to expand opportunities for in-person instruction within the established limitations, which is currently not being done. There are options already available that could be put into place without violating guidelines as shown by other NJ districts. To knowingly ignore those opportunities in the face of scientific data demonstrating low transmission rates is unacceptable and unethical. You have thus CHOSEN to degrade my child’s academic and social emotional growth. If increasing in-person learning CAN be done then it MUST be done. Our children’s’ needs deserve to come first above all else.
Many schools around the surrounding area have reopening plans and our on their way to implementing them. Where is our plan? and more importantly what is our timeline to execute it??
Enough! It has been a year, my 14 year old was failing! I have had to quit my job and spend the past 3 months with her every single day to finally get her grades to some A's and B'c. She has a 504 plan and has gotten little to no help. Ill be pulling her out of public school at the end of the year and putting her in a Christian school. The Governor has no right to take our God given rights and constitutional rights away. We are humans, not lab rats
Children's learning, emotional and in some cases physical health is being severely impacted by being out of school. Open the schools. Truly sad.
I live in Long Valley, my children went through the Washington Township K-8 schools. Principals, teachers, and staff were always on the side of our kids. Sadly that does not seem to be the case today. Follow the science, open the schools tomorrow! Step up administrators and teachers. Be not afraid. Many people are working everyday to make sure you are fed, protected, and cared for. Step up, we are tired of your excuses and indifference.

Our children have suffered long enough. Your “comfort” level does NOT override the facts and data for our area. If a parent is NOT “comfortable” they have a CHOICE to keep their kids home. Where is OUR CHOICE?!!!!!! Enough of the politics and using our children as pawns - DO YOUR JOB WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO FOCUS ON THE BETTERMENT OF OUR CHILDREN - the children COME FIRST!!! OR WE WILL TAKE ACTION TO GET SOMEONE WHO WILL!
