We have thousands of amazing officers in our nation, who live to serve and protect. Yet we have hundreds of bad officers who outweigh the good. I believe the way to change the racial injustice our country faces is to start with our officers. We are supposed to look to the police to help and save us not to fear them. This petition is to start a new training that would require pre-hiring screening that would include intensive psychological testing, anger management, a deep history questionnaire, and updated training methods. This would apply to current officers as well with the intention of weeding out any who may not have civil ethical core values, live to serve and protect all people no matter of race or sexual identification. This would require them to receive training that is apparently desperately needed across the nation as more and more civil unrest spreads. It would also require them to carry personal liability insurance so that if and/or when they make a mistake of any kind it falls on them to fix and not the tax payers dollars. By doing this it is an incentive to always do that right thing and not need the insurance. I’m open to further suggestions on how to make the United States Police Force more effective and less destructive. We are a divided nation, let’s unite together and make the changes we deserve!
