Engrave the child's future in your heart

Safeguarding is about creating safe environments and preventing children from experiencing harm and abuse and in that regard.
I Commit to:
1. Always create a safe environment for children in our programmes by observing all Principles spelt out in the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and supporting Regulations.
2. Identify, prevent and respond to safeguarding risks that may harm children and young people. This includes compliance and mitigation actions.
3. Listen to children and young people on what a safe environment means for them in relation with their peers, parents and caregivers as well as in their day-to-day lives within their families and communities.
4. Emphasise that neglect and abuse are unacceptable.
5. To create awareness about violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect, and advocate that people stand up when they witness them.
6. Strengthen existing community-based child protection systems for programme participants.
7. Report any form of harm, exploitation and abuse to children and young people.
8. Gather information about community resources such as local advocacy groups, community and faith groups, or organised children’s activities which could support the child and youth safeguarding work.
9. Reduce risks to children’s holistic well-being, make children’s rights a reality, restore hope and create an enabling environment that supports children’s positive development.
10. Uphold the four pillars of Safeguarding: Awareness, Prevention, Reporting and Responding.
