Enfield Council should drop its blanket plan to leave parks unlocked at night

Leaving some parks unlocked is not a problem. However, other parks have more to "trash", and often these are the assets lovingly created and maintained by volunteers. The scope for vandalism has been shown once again by the latest arson attack at Grovelands Park play area. The "blanket" policy must be replaced by one which considers the individual circumstances of each park in question .

This seems such a short termist plan; surely we will see an increase in litter, anti-social behaviour, grafitti, broken bottles and vandalism in these parks..

This is not going to be cost effective and all the hard work put in by residents to improve and restore parks will be lost. No one would be in parks at night for any other reason than to being something they should not be doing. Once the rot sets in then it takes years to clean it up. We know from our own experience at Bury Lodge Park.r
