On the ENE425 exam on 20 May 2016;
Question #2 part A and Part D;
2 A): The questions language was confusing and the clarifications from Yuanming were confusing. Additionally, many of us had answered the question prior to receiving the new information. The new information that was presented in class was further varied by each exam room.
The result of this was varied solutions to the question based on individuals interpretations of the original question and additional information given by Yuanming.
2 D): It was explicitly stated in the May 4th class that we would not have real options on the exam.
The result of this was some students were able to answer this question while others had no idea how to approach this question. To be fair to both groups, we should integrate some policy allow us to include or exclude this question from our exam grading.
I agree that the mentioned issues should be taken into consideration when the grading is done. Also, I will ask for the oportunity to retake this exam next semester, meaning that an exam is made possible in the autumn, even though the course is normally onyl held in the spring.
