Ending the Child mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa

About 29,000 children under the age of five – 21 each minute – die every day- 6.6 million children die a few months. It’s all due to six reasons which are neonatal causes, pneumonia, diarrhoea, malaria, measles, and HIV/AIDS.United nations is an intergovernmental organization which created 8 goals to help and improve the world, reduce child mortality is one of them. But the the aim is to further cut child mortality by two thirds by 2015 from the 1990 level.

Child Mortality occur most in Sub-Saharan Africa.Since 1990,they are already so many children dying in sub saharan until now,but why? It’s because poor families are often unable to obtain even the basic health care for their childrens because they’re poor, they can not afford to register their babies in the government registry.Beside of families are poor, the quality of water are dirty which can cause disease, with the weak defence in children’s body, they are unable to obtain nutrition,in fact, bacteria are able to coast them diseases and even die.

Hodsbdlo has a 3 years old son and a 5 years old daughter, but Hodsbdlostruggles to provide for the family, they all live in a poor area in Sub-Saharan Africa.Due to dirty water ,unhygienicand lack of nutrition, bacteria can easily coast them diseases and die.

The British medical journal,"The Lancet" has published a widely-quoted series of five articles outlining the current child survival situation as "The Lancet Child Survival Series". The series outlines a number of child survival interventions which have been scientifically proven to reduce mortality. The series can help people to understand the situation of Child Mortality and gain supporters. Also, the UNICEF helps strengthen policies and budgets and support technical capacities in programmes for hygiene promotion, sanitation, cost-effective water supply options and water quality, particularly for poor rural and urban families.UNICEF also helps develop partnerships that pool competencies and resources, particularly in its role as advocate, facilitator and coordinator in emergencies. These activities are also aim for MDGS 4.

To reduce Children from dying,we can scale up effective health services and build roads because roads make health facilities more accessible to poor families in rural areas, which allows for more frequent and less costly visits for their children and better access to antenatal or postnatal care, helping to prevent infant and maternal deaths and illness. We can also expanding immunization programs, enhancing growth monitoring of children, ensuring the survival and improve health of mothers, support better nutrition for child and mother, investing in improved reproductive health and make infrastructure investments. But the solution which is most important is increasing access to improved water and quality because not only children and mothers are not healthy, the whole country is not healthy.UNICEF should help develop systems to control water-borne diseases like Guinea worm and cholera that undermine child survival and development, reduce productivity and raise health-care costs.

But are there enough money for doing those things?Does the sub-saharan africa government have enough many to afford health services and more?To decrease child mortality, I need every person around the world to contribute and sign this petition,to agree to get governments to use resources and try stop children in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Reflection

After my research and made a petition about child mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa , I feel they should be helped. it's not fair that they don’t get what they need and don’t get a fair chance of life or choices. Due to dirty water, unhygienic and lack of nutrition, lots of children can easily get neonatal causes, pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria, measles, and HIV/AIDS, I think we should scale up effective health services and build roads because roads make health facilities more accessible to poor families in rural areas, which allows for more frequent and less costly visits for their children and better access to antenatal or postnatal care, helping to prevent infant and maternal deaths and illness, but what I consider most important is to increase access to improved water and quality because not only children and mothers are not healthy, the whole country is not healthy. . To reduce child mortality.

I think this a sort of a reminder or even a warning, telling people to keep healthy, to stay hygiene and cherish others
