On May 1st, patrons of the Athens City Parking Garage will be paying a new rate of $0.75 per hour. This increase of 50% will earn the city $115,000. The use of said funds being improvements of the parking garage itself.
The undersigned propose that a regular parking fee be imposed on Sundays instead of increasing the daily parking rate.This is proposed in order to avoid rate hikes, that effect all, and to end the subsidization of Sunday parkers.
If rates must increase, all should feel the increased burden.
