It's bad enough we slaughter cows for meat consumption. Horses did not need to be put into this too. Horses are still used for riding, working on farms, in the case of the Amish, pulling plows & such, they are an animal with so many uses while alive, i don't think we need to export them for some other country to slaughter in horrific ways, or even here, why would we be killing these proud, noble creatures? When i see a horse, I think of the Indians who lived here before any of us, treating the horse with respect. I am totally against killing of horses, it is not necessary. It isn't like there isn't plenty of other food sources available. I hope that you, the members of Congress, will pass this bill ending this horrible practice. Thank you.

No animal, even if it is destined to be slaughtered should endure a journey to the place of its death. All killing must be done locally to help alleviate as much suffering as posssible. This is very reminiscent of the Nazis transporting Jews to the death camps!
