Silverland middle school is one of many schools in the U.S. with a zero-tolerance policy for fights, even if you were attacked and badly injured. The zero tolerance policy has been proven to not help improve the school climate or to make a school safer. It also has not improved students' behaviors. Kids know that either way, they will be in the same amount of trouble, and therefore there are more fights. There is at least one fight a day. That is why I believe that we should end zero tolerance.

It isn’t fair that if they START the fight I get in trouble it’s just stupid and this isn’t fair to the victims of fights who have done nothing wrong

Once I got jumped at my school and I had detention for the same amount of days as the people who jumped me
