I don’t understand why they are installed on main roads.

The absurdity of forcing drivers out onto the ring road in order to travel a quarter mile from one side of Cowley to the other is beyond belief. But it is the sort of planning characteristic of the City and County Councils. The effect has been to divert traffic into other residential streets as drivers seek cut-throughs. Everywhere there are 20 mph speed limit signs, but nothing and nobody to enforce these; there are few things more foolish than making a law which cannot be enforced. 'Consultation' is always a scare word, because it indicates that the decision has been made already, but the Councils are making a small show of democratic process. Remove the barriers at once and stop treating drivers as cattle who need to be corralled!

Traffic around Cowley is now ridiculous due to everyone having to use the same route sitting traffic adds to pollution

The road closures don't seem to benefit anyone, and do negatively affect lots of people. They are forcing local traffic out at pinch points onto main roads, which can only cause traffic jams and slower driving times for lots and lots of people. The Littlemore Road closure stopping people from accessing Temple Cowley Shopping Centre is especially ridiculous. The Bartholomew Road route is the only simple way to access Blackbird Leys from Littlemore by car, and claiming that everyone could simply walk or cycle that route instead of driving is absolutely unrealistic.

This is totally unnecessary & a waste of the councils money, which could be put to better use. It would make sense to enforce the 20mph speed limit.

What a complete waste of time and money, what about delivery drivers, waste collections, emergency workers, and extra pollution.

Extra journey time for multiple school runs causing unnecessary stress and extra pollution, after 12th April its going to be a nightmare, kids will be late for school as all 3 LTNs affect my route. To make it safer for people to cross Littlemore Rd they just need to put a zebra crossing in. Never had a problem when I lived on the road.

As a local resident, I am considerably worse off by this ill thought out scheme, as I am now forced onto main roads with more congestion, more pollution and more time spent in the car related to essential travel (like work, shopping etc).
I assume the council will refund me for the extra time and fuel costs incurred in my journeys now.
After all, I have paid for these roads via road-fund, petrol duty, and council tax etc . Who are the council to redefine my movements.
I cannot see how this is any good for local residents who need their cars, unless you walk and cycle only (a minority)
Any why in areas like cowley, and not the upper-class areas like Summertown.
Remove it now !!!

The consultation was lacking and it has benefited a few streets at the expense of the surrounding areas. It is a divisive scheme.

Think of the elderly & disabled who live in the area, where what was previously a 2 min journey to a shop, relatives house or doctors surgery now takes 20 mins round an extra clogged up ring road. Think of the extra traffic and the people who live on the other residential roads cars will use instead. Think of the ambulance service trying to reach emergencies.
Think of delivery drivers, think of taxies having to take longer journeys (and charge higher fees) to reach a destination, or having to drop vulnerable people a considerable distance from their homes on due to the additional cost - even worse dropping off vulnerable people alone to walk that extra distance on darks nights.
Think of the small business' that were previously en route for passing trade who will now struggle. The reasons are many and varied - the whole scheme is a joke.
..and don't try to say this has anything to do with road safety (clearly nonsense) or a cleaner environment - longer journeys mean more emmisions.
