The amount of energy spent on an extra hour of lighting is tiny compared to the energy we spend on heating, cooling and transport. Although I would prefer daylight savings time to be permanent so we could spend more time in daylight, a consistent timetable is preferable.

This policy is archaic and no longer necessary . I personally need about 3 weeks after the time change ( both forward and back) to adjust to the change of time.

I signed the damn thing, but the problem is that the petition is NOT to END daylight saving time. It proposes to STAY on DST year round. The federal government won't let the state do that. We either have to opt out of DST or not. Staying on standard time would be a better idea, anyway.
