We the people demand that are businesses reopen now. Our freedom, constitutional rights and financial security have been taken away from us for too long. You need to let the people decide what’s best for them. Not the government.

Open up outlying areas with few cases first and ascertain whether the medical system can handle the new cases, then proceed with the harder hit metro areas. Keep a safety net for the vulnerable population.

I would like to see smaller business that normally accommodate less than 10 people open. For instance, hair salons that have only 3 chairs, small gyms that 10 people would be a lot, restaurants than can take reservations for 10 at a time. Open slowly if you will. Before these businesses die.

Let's protect our seniors and immune compromised. They stay protected with shelter in place for a while longer. The rest of the workforce and community needs to get back to rebuilding our communities. The unintended consequences of isolation: anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, financial ruin, bankruptcy, businesses lost, dreams shattered. Like one author said, "death by a thousand cuts". We need to have a balanced approach to the many problems we face, not just a virus that will take less than 1% ( according to Dr. Fauci, see NEJM article he co-authored 3/26/2020) of our population. We can protect that more vulnerable population and still get things back to humming in a way that will let the virus run its course among the young and healthy that will, in the end, protect those that are more vulnerable in the future through herd immunity and plasma obtained from those that have recovered from it. Nothing will be perfect. Lives will be lost either way. Meanwhile, this is a more balanced approach that all can get behind in my opinion.

Time to reopen Minnesota. Many small businesses will never come back so let’s save those that we can.
