I just received word that the school board is officially adopting our proposed mental health awareness curriculum. I started this as a small class project and never imagined it would actually change policy. Thank you for making this happen because this victory truly belongs to all of you.

Take the pledge to end the mental health stigma! As a part of a high school project my peers and I were told to research a global issue. For my project I chose teen mental health and teen suicide (super upbeat I know) because it's becoming more of an issue with each day. The biggest issue right now is the stigma surrounding mental health issues. The mental health stigma is the way the world views people who may struggle with their mental health. Going to see a counsellor/therapist when you need to, should be as normal as going to the doctor for a cold. But it's not. For some reason it isn't viewed the same. In taking this pledge you promise to help support those who struggle and to help end the stigma! Thank you :)

I honestly thought this would just be a small school project but seeing 100 people take this pledge is completely overwhelming. This belongs to all of you who chose to care and I am just so incredibly grateful.

I hope you get enough signatures. As a person who suffers from depression, anxiety and OCD (yes, I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist with all of those), the mental health stigma affects me greatly, and I wish it didn't, because I know that means it affects millions of others.

Some people I am very close to are suicidal and some have bad mental health. Personally I have anxiety and depression. I try to do everything I can for the people I am close to and care so much about and I put them first.

It really pisses me off that there is such issues. Everyone should see a therapist every once in a while, even if they are what is considered "mentally healthy". But there's such a negative outlook on people that do that and it's really annoying.

as a teenager who suffers from mental healh issues and found it ridiculously difficult to get support, it's more important than ever for me that we begin breaking down this stigma in order to make mental health a common conversation for future generations to come

I recently did a social injustice presentation on the mental illness stigma. It really opened people's eyes and I'm hoping this petition can, too. Mental health needs to be brought up more, and not seen as lesser or odd. End the mental health stigma. Good luck!

I would just like to say that I think this topic is so important. As someone who struggle(d)(s) with depression, bi-polar tendencies, anxiety and more I am so so so thankful that others are raising awareness to end the stigma :) thank you
