As you know California is going through a terrible drought and theirs no definite sign of it stopping in the future. People are scrambling to conserve water more efficiently but lets be honest with a state that has a population the size of Canada these methods can only do so much. We need a real plan to start getting fresh water now.

The solution to the problem are Salination pits/Solar Desalination. Massive factories that can covert salt water to fresh water like magic, sounds like something from a sci-fi novel I can assure you this is not science fiction, it fact it has existed for quite some time now and Texas has already implemented hundreds of these to help combat their similar drought.

Now their are all kinds of arguments but the longer you wait and argue the longer you'll have to struggle to converse water and lose massive amounts of income from your agricultural sectors. We need to act now and think about other cheaper solutions in the future. The United States is 18 trillion dollars in debt, spending a little on ensuring that one of the strongest states is able to continue to generate massive revenue is worth the sacrifice short term for long term stability.

I believe that with more construction of theses nifty machines we'll learn how to make them more efficient, resource prices will drop and more will be readily available to be built. Also getting young people/ scientists to start inventing new cheaper and more energy efficient way of remove salt from water.

Or are you going to keep doing the rain dance hoping that mother nature will show her good side again and bless your state with much needed rain that might not come at all.
