My daughter has been playing Ringette for 8 years now and my son will be in his third year of Midget hockey next year. I have never been in favor of deciding a game in a coin toss.

Our Ringette team almost had to do a coin toss this year for Esso Golden Ring, but it did not come to that. We lost in a shoot out, which was tough, but if it had gone to a coin toss, I think it would have been much worse. These girls are competitive girls. A coin toss will not do and quite frankly it is insulting to the skills they work so fiercely on throughout the season.

The coin toss seems to be more prominent in Ringette, however Global news today showed parents and players of Bantam AA team crushed that their child's quarter finals were decided by a coin toss.

I am writing this to plead with both Ringette Calgary and Hockey Calgary to end the coin toss! These kids work hard...and all girls AND boys who play on the ice, whether it is Ringette or Hockey need to be treated fairly, and not have something they have worked so hard at be decided by a flip of a coin. I am sure parents could come up with many different options that would keep the games competitive.
