End the Christmas tree tax

10 Signatures Goal: 1,000

The Christmas tree tax is a forced advertising scheme that is a threat to our freedom. The right of association is one so basic that the Founders saw no need to make it explicit. With the right of association comes the right to NOT associate.

The Christmas tree tax is nothing more than crony capitalism that forces successful Christmas tree farmers to fund advertising to benefit those suffering from their own bad decisions, specifically the sale of trees cut weeks before. Although advocates claim that the industry will pay the tax, customers ultimately will.
