This is a great training and educational base. We do not need to cut anything from Fort Benning! This base is that back bone of South West Georgia!

Ft. Benning has a long and proud heritage of being a vital base for training of our troops. We need to save our military presence and the civilian jobs attached to this base.

We need to be increasing our military numbers instead of decreasing. In this day and time we need a stronger than ever military.

We need to honor the past sacrifices to secure liberty and freedom by supporting those who continue to defend them. Now is not the time to retract but rather to grow, strengthen and provide united support for the brave men and women who comprise our military.

Fort Benning plays such an important role in our community and our community supports Fort Benning. I am a mortgage banker in our community and 90% of my business in dealing with Veterans. This cut will result in a large number foreclosures throughout our community driving the home prices down like it did with the latest recession. These cut back will hurt our overall economy and will impact many lives.

Keep America Strong. Stand up for our Armed Forces. They've always stood up for us. To our government, do forget you are employed by "We The People" and "We The People" want a strong military.

We need our military stronger than ever with the way the world is now! My son is in the Marines and has done a fine job the last 4 years but due to the cut back he is being forced out. He was trained in a highly technical area, he graduated first in his class and they had rather bring in a new recruit than keep him. I don't understand!

I believe if this down-size does go through then not only will thousands of military jobs will be lost, but also the economy of Columbus will suffer tremendously.
