My family moved to Columbus in 1963 when my father was stationed to Ft. Benning. My father retired here and has lived in Columbus, Georgia ever since. I was born and raised here and now my son is now serving, however, he is stationed in Ft. Gordon, GA. As someone coming from a military family, I know how important the base is to everyone in the community. Please do not make the cuts that you have announced to Ft. Benning.

I am very concerned about our military's readiness capabilities with all the budget and manpower cuts due to sequestration. Ft. Benning is vital to maintaining that readiness, as well as being an integral part of the economic vitality of the Columbus, GA, and Phenix City, AL, communities. I challenge you to find another military installation with as strong a symbiotic relationship with its home community as exists here. Do not continue with these ill-advised cuts!

I'm a veteran, Obama is cutting the wrong areas of government. Cut the IRS, get rid of czars that he created. Talk to John stossell, hell tell you where we're wasting money.
