Retired civil service employee, we need a strong system of protection during this unsettled time in our country. Do not lower troop numbers please.

Ft Benning is a vital part of the economy for Columbus, Ga. The Home of the Infantry plays a critical role in the Army and in our community. Veterans often settle in Columbus and enjoy the support of the services available on post. We need Ft Benning strong for our future.

Please do not cut back the troops at Ft. Benning. It would be a devastating blow to the economy of Columbus Georgia and surrounding areas. Many families depend on that economy.

The Armed Forces of the United States provide Americans protection from global enemies. The importance of the military grows daily, even every minute, based on events happening around the world. I can think of many areas within the U.S. federal government that deal with only domestic issues that need to be reviewed by forensic accountants to tally up the wasteful spending occurring in those areas. The results of such reviews would probably reveal ten times over savings that would allow the military to expand, not to reduce. Fort Benning is the premier facility for the military and we cannot allow budget shortfalls to cause the dissolution of the benefits that this military establishment provides our community or the entire United States of America. I encourage everyone to join me in protecting this top notch location.

We do not need to cut troops during these troubling times, when war is spoken about so much.

I have never understood this madness underway right now concerning our military services. This would make life difficult for those who have fought for the rights of all americans. Fight for all not just for our base. Keep our training here for those who sacrifice to make this the home of the brave.

Fort Benning is where I was born and has been a large part of my life. The recent economic downturn was difficult in our area and downsizing at Benning would be devastating to our area. Please keep Fort Benning Strong!
