No school has any right, whatsoever, to dictate hairstyles. This is ridiculous! Stop picking on people of color for their culture! Be the grown ups and set the standard for kindness and understanding of many cultures; our country is made of people from all over the globe. Be the example we want our children to follow!

This seems like a great way to enforce segregation in schools by default.

I wholeheartedly sign this petition because if this isn't one of the most racist things I've ever seen, then I don't know what is? I hope that this school administration is punished for what they are doing to these beautiful girls and I hope that these girls know that they have support from Rhode Island. Much love!

The war in America is on the Constitution of the US. What happened to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness?" What about first amendment rights to free speech? Black kids can wear their hair in any expression they want, especially if it's clean and neat. If we don't stop this take-over of America, there won't be an America - land of the free!

You need a lawsuit, not an internet petition. This is a crock.

Teach kids about the constitution, our history and participation in community, and stop wasting time on this race-based policing.

It's time the school recognized the racist bias in the rules regarding hairstyles and changed them. Racism has no place in education.

Unacceptable behavior by the staff of this school.

Stop policing childrens' bodies. You should be celebrating and teaching about differences, not forcing conformity.

This is anti-blackness and it is disgusting. Stop trying to police black women and girls bodies and hair.

Everyone already knows how absurd this is. This is blatant, willful, and purposeful discrimination
