Truly an action needs to be made aware of this universities practice and manner of this. It goes to the top head and then needs to be handled with the moral responsibility needed. It is a statement of the universities behavior and motto in their athletic programs. It is too blatant and disrespectful and uncaring. A "Team" is suppose to bond and be a Family and support each other, not act as though the Jim Crow Laws are still in affect. I am totally displeased that an NCAA institution such as Mary Washington, displays this manner of their character. A letter and this petition should also go to the head office of the NCAA immediately

The treatment of this young athlete, and the other African-Americans in the women's basketball program at Mary Washington is unconscionable. The lack of response by the coach MUST be addressed.

The actions of the leadership at Mary Washington is despicable and reprehensible. The outright lying by the coach about the true nature of Miss Orsted's inability to make the women's basketball team, because she refused to laugh at racial jokes and comments , by team mates, is low hanging fruit for dismissal. How can you claim that there were no improprieties, and then settle the claim like nothing happened, by allowing your coach to remain in her position.As a former D1 player and someone who has some influence in advising parents and prospects , on where to attend college, I will certainly make sure to tell them to stay away from Mary Washington College, at all costs.

Everyone even remotely associated with women's basketball at Mary Washington needs to be fired. That includes up to the AD!
