For houses in Lake Maggiore Shores that are adjacent to Lake Maggiore, such as those on Pallanza Drive, people from the general public have been coming onto our streets and fishing in the lake. We used to have "No Fishing" signs to deter them, and police would ask them to leave if they came. Unfortunately, there is no current city ordinance to stop the public from fishing here, so the signs were removed. Now, the general public come and park on our streets, oftentimes leaving trash and litter, and disturbing the overall sense of peace in our neighborhood. This petition is to bring this situation to the attention of city council so that an official city ordinance can be passed to restrict public fishing on our streets, in order to reestablish peace, privacy, and a sense of safety in the neighborhood.
