This would be an amazing step in the right direction. We need to show the rest of Newfoundland and Canada that we can use better alternatives! With the blow me downs and Gros Morne right nearby this could mean amazing publicity and awareness towards tourists as well.

This would be a step in the right direction. Hopefully more Canadian cities will follow suit. The lack of recycling in Newfoundland and on the west coast is horrible- we need to start doing our part to save the environment.

I always use reusable bags. Hopefully this petition will push others in that direction as well!

We should also ban fluoride in our water too. It will be greatly helping our own health and the environment health at the same time. Maybe next project?? :D

Plastic bags are a very contemporary & totally unnecessary thing! Unfortunately when given a choice, people choose the easy solution of using the stores disposable plastic bags rather than bringing their own. So happy to lose the option for plastic!
