Trap, Neuter and Release is a program by which cats are captured then tagged by having a section of their ear cut off; they are also neutered. No distinction is made between stray cats and feral. Since there is no hold on cats, they have no obligation to make a public post or notification that would allow owners to identify their cats before this for-life maiming procedure is carried out.

We should like to see the law regarding TNR altered in two fair and reasonable ways;

1.) Public notification: If strays are captured there must be a reasonable hold placed and a public notification posted to give the owner an opportunity to retrieve the animal before any procedure is carried out.

2. ) No maiming. There will be no further maiming of cats! Cutting of a cats ear is barbaric and the practice must end!
