This is ridiculous i work in a hair salon in lindley & this will put clients off coming if they have to pay to park! Greedy!

Absolutely disgraceful. Very soon there will be nothing left in Huddersfield to visit! Yet another way of keeping potential shoppers out if the area. Truly a town in utter decline.

Lindley is a thriving village with a great range of local shops. Charging for parking will make it hard for local traders to survive & push vehicles onto the smaller already congested pedestrian streets, one of which houses the entrances to a school, kids club & dance school. This is a terrible idea

As a Lindley street resident I strongly object to the proposals to introduce charges at Lindley car park. It is already difficult to park on the street near our house and these proposals will only exacerbate the situation.

Will Kirklees Council be extending this to ALL villages and shopping hamlets of the borough? I doubt that very much!
Clearly they are hell-bent on killing Lindley in the same way they have the town centre.
Oh, and don’t dare blame Central Government for this one! Other councils seem to manage their money without changing for local parking.

This will place more strain on existing residential parking probably resulting more wide spread use of permits. Threatening the businesses on the high street. No one wants that.

I can see the Car Park being empty and the streets in close proximity being full of cars all day. God help us at school times too it bad enough now with free car parking.

We should be encouraging people to come into the village for its economic prosperity not driving them away with parking charges.
