We, the people of Orchard Park, want the elementary principals removed from the hiring committees. The district has hired at least ten people in the last three years that are related to someone in the district.We believe our tax dollars should be used to seek the most qualified, experienced candidates for each position.We believe that removing the principals from the hiring committees would put an end to a practice that is currently causing the district to lose excellent substitute teachers and threatens the excellent reputation that our district has held for many years. Removing the principals from the hiring committees would leave the hiring in the hands of the wonderful teachers, and we areconfident that the teachers would pick the most qualified educators to work in our district.
