Petition to End Mandatory Retirement Based on Age

We, the undersigned, believe that mandatory retirement based solely on chronological age is unjust and outdated. Many individuals remain physically and mentally fit to work well beyond the imposed retirement age. Forcing them to retire not only deprives them of their independence but also makes them financially dependent on their families, potentially creating undue burdens.

We propose that employment should be based on a person's ability rather than their age. If an individual is certified as fit to work by a qualified medical professional, they should have the right to continue working for as long as they choose.
