The staff at the schools are seen all the time not wearing a mask.

Let our kids have an option to wear one or not wear one!

Please stop the abuse. Don't use children to play political games.

Finally, my grandchild won’t feel like they can’t breath, or having labored breathing, because there’s a mask keeping from getting enough air. Thank you.

Using masks does prevent Covid, science has proven that

She is not the only one. Some of the resources shared at the end of the petition show this same trend amongst other young children who have been masked.

Excellent points! Wouldn't it be interesting to find out exactly how many of us have already had COVID?

You make one of the most important points. How can we trust the CDC on masking guidance, if we know that they are not to be trusted on other critical information?

Here are a couple of quotes from the New York Times from an article entitled “CDC Isn’t Publishing Large Portions of the COVID-19 Data It Collects.” It was posted on Feb. 21: “Kristen Nordlund, a spokesperson for the CDC, said the agency has been slow to release the different streams of data ‘because basically, at the end of the day, it (the data; however, as the article clearly implies, “it” can refer to the CDC itself) is not yet ready for prime time.’” An additional quote: “ Another reason (the CDC hasn’t released data) is fear that the information might be misinterpreted.” The whole 1800 word article is an indictment of the CDC.

I believe that herd immunity is practically achieved now in our community. Vaccines are readily available to almost all with the youngest-0-5, not needing it (in my opinion based on CDC statistics). I firmly believe that because of the lengthy duration of wearing masks, students are “forgetting what “normal” life is. Additionally, I am spending WAY too much time trying to enforce “masks up” (I have said that term probably a thousand times). Teachers can still wear masks if they feel it is needed. Students can be instructed by their parents to wear or not wear a mask as well and teachers can support those parents’ wishes. It is time.

The community has done all it can to ensure the safety of students and staff of NSBSD. It’s time to make masks optional.

I am a teacher since 2004. Covid is not going away, but the fear of Covid can go away if we let kids be normal by not wearing a mask!

Masks are detrimental for young children that are still trying to learn how to annunciate words/letters.
