This medication does quite the opposite of "evening the score." It allows sexism to flourish—the attitude of "what's wrong with me, that I have no desire for this man?" Not only this, but the drug in question is a proven danger to women's health. I urge the FDA to hold fast to its earlier position of banning the drug.

Women's thyroid health needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency. Despite so called normal TSH results, we remain hypothyroid on the standard levothyroxine and end up on anti depressants, anti anxieties, sleeping pills, strong pain relief and a whole host of lucrative drugs. Any surprises we then have poor libido? It doesn't take a genius to see there is cash in keeping us ill. A pill for every ill indeed.

Women deserve not to be fooled by an uinderhanded tactic like crying gender equity for a drug that works about as well as placebo and has no record to confirm that it is really safe.

The 'Even the Score' campaign is disturbing in its co-option of feminist rhetoric. Women will not be liberated by access to more ineffective and unsafe drugs. Unlike Viagra and the handful of other drugs (not 26 by any count) approved for treating sexual dysfunction in men, Flibanserin is an SSRI drug which must be taken daily. In clinical trials it showed only an extra 0.7 Sexually Satisfying Events per month as compared to the placebo and 14% of women withdrew these trials due to adverse events. There is also stacks of evidence to show that women's sexual problems are shaped primarily by social, economic, and interpersonal factors which will not be solved by a drug.

Big pharm invest a great deal in advertising and it is not well know that about 50% of men who get for viagra and the like prescriptions DO NOTRENEW THEM! Positive sexual interactions are based on more tha apilll but on the basis of the interpersonal and caring relationship between the couple. T

It's unconscionable to try pressure the FDA to approve drugs that do not work and could potentially harm women. For once, they are actually doing a good job protecting the public. Let's applaud them and not appropriate feminist language and tactics for commercial purposes.

As a feminist and patient safety activist with RxISK.org, I see this as the very OPPOSITE of a feminist campaign. Flibanserin is a failed antidepressant with significant risks, and very dubious benefits, for which women would have to take the pill every day for life. 20% of us are already on antidepressants -- and while I think most of our 'sexual problems' are in our lives, work and relationships, I've also known lots of women who suffered sexual problems from antidepressants and other meds without even realizing it. Thanks but no thanks, Pharma!

I deplore the pharmaceutical industry's use of pseudo-feminist language to try to get FDA support for the drug, filbanserin, a drug that the FDA has rightly rejected twice.
