Stopping negotiations does not solve issues, whether the city fights for our tax dollars, or the union fights for our workers rights both cannot move forward without discussion.

Communication is necessary. It's not about individuals but the future of Castlegar and its future development! Get back to the table and solve this.... Which means discussions have to be taking place not accusations or stalled talks!!

Lets bring our community back together and get this over with. This is a wonder city with wonderful people. Please get back to the table. There is no reason to not get this settled before the holidays. The longer this takes to settle the uglier it can get and will pull our beautiful city apart. Let's all have a great christmas

This has gone on long enough. The Mayor needs to put John Malcolm on the back bunner and sit down face to face with the Union spokesperson and settle this. I know it can be done.

Castlegar has the smallest amount of city workers compared to Nelson or Trail. Not sure why we can not treat them with dignity and prepare to secure their jobs for the future.. let's have some pride in our City and focus on attracting new business's which would generate new tax streams instead of slashing jobs.. and Quit the insults.. how degrading..

I've seen your ads and posts letting us know what you've done so far, but they're still standing out there, in the cold weather at Christmas time. They obviously believe in what they're doing and aren't being heard. Better get back to work council, because in the end it's you who are responsible for the good function of our city.

I don't think Council will lose face by shifting. The citizens of Castlegar need Council to be the "grownups" here, showing leadership in conflict resolution.
