Everyday in India, people are conducted immorally because of a fate they cannot alter. Higher castes of India exploit lower castes through theft, rape, harassment, threats- the list of obscene acts is limitless. It is estimated that every 18 minutes a Dalit is transgressed upon. The problem is obvious. India has even addressed the issue and generated a law against discrimination. Unfortunately, it has failed to end segregation between the castes. There is a lack of effort to enforce the laws that could stop the innocent 201 million Dalits from a life of suffering. You have the potential to change that.

We, the students of Legend High School, hope to bring awareness to caste discrimination and enforcement upon it. Our goal is to obtain 1,000 signatures and present this petition to organizations such as The International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN), The Dalit Foundation, and The Overcoming Violence Organization. Together, we can make the problem aware and show our concern, to influence change. With the help of you, the petitioners and organizations, we can change a person's decided destiny and touch the untouchables.
